2010 A very busy year!

What a year!

I am very grateful for the fantastic opportunities I have received this past year and am very privileged to have worked with some incredible musicians, all of whom have given me a fascinating insight into this thing we call music.

Highlights of the year past were performances  from Garth Knox, Orkest de ereprijs (as well as meeting many great people in Apeldoorn!), Decibel (During Louis Andriessen’s trip to Birmingham), Darragh Morgan & Mary Dullea, and the composers ensemble at Birmingham Conservatoire. I also had the privilege of working with the Jacob Epstein archive at the New Art Gallery Walsall, culminating in a performance at this wonderful gallery. This is on top of continually benifiting from the many wonderful insights I receive from my supervisors Joe Cutler and Howard Skempton. In addition to this I presented papers at the University of York, Birmingham Conservatoire, University of Durham, and Coventry University. furthermore, I made numerous appearances as an improvising performer, in addition to recording with my band Nippons.

The year really finished with a bang as I was appointed BCMG/Sound and Music apprentice Composer in Residence, a role I am really looking forward to undertaking.

2011 Looks just as action packed with performances from the Composers Ensemble in Birmingham in January, Composers Ensemble in Stockholm in February, Decibel  and Birmingham Conservatoire Wind Orchestra in Birmingham in March, Crash Ensemble in Dublin in April as well as a large piece for BCMG for the end of the year!

Lets hope its a good one!!!
